Analysis is used every single day by human beings. Just by saying how our day was and how we feel can tell someone what they need to know, and by how you look a certain day. Well, just like the difference of analyzing each day and person, there's a difference when analyzing text compared to analyzing some form of art. When analyzing text you only analyze what the author is saying through words and seeing what kind of word use is in the text and what tone is the author trying to use to get the point across. When analyzing music videos or pieces of art we have to analyze not just the words, but also color and different signs shown to tell what message is being said.
Analyzing art is easier because the point is sometimes really clear and right in your face because there's a more visual look on the point. It can also be hard because there are so many different messages that can be brought out through art that won't really tell the real point of the art form unless you actually have an interview with the artist. What can be learned is that analyzing is not as easy as it may seem. When analyzing, we have to go more in depth and really look for clues before we can really grasp the true meaning of the art and what the artist wants people to comprehend when viewing the art.

ReplyDeleteSometimes analyzing art is easier, though sometimes it is not. It depends on your personal tastes, but I think you are right that we analyze art and text differently (and, I should note, some text is art). Insightful and interesting.
