Many things happen when we take analytical approaches and use them to analyze different topics. We learn what the media is about, we are informed, we become educated. Analyzing things are great because we understand the deeper meaning. We become one with the text. It is so much more than just reading a text or listening to a song. It is easier because prople understand what the author or artist is trying to portray. There is always a deeper meaning or theme. That's the hard part, trying to figure out what the main point is. Many people struggle with this. I personally do sometimes. I think its harder to analyze a song verses a poem, essay, or novel. Songs are tricky because sometimes the artist is confused or uses sarcasm and some people don't catch on to it. Poems, essays, and novels can be hard to because sometimes the author writes a satire and the reader won't catch on to it, and if you don't then you miss the whole meaning. Bottom line, we can learn a lot from rhetorical analysis by using it on different types of objects. We can learn facts about the author or artist, the target audience, and the purpose of the text or piece of media.
