Rhetorical analyzing a song or a peice of art is not that different than doing it to a piece of writing. In both of them you have to look at the words and find out what mood and find out what the artist or author is trying to portray or say. The only real difference in analyzing the two, is the physical instermental music in the song or the colors in the pictures. Those two things actually add to the analytical process. I feel that analyzing a song is much easier to do than a piece of writing because you actually hear whats being said and have music to add to the tone of the piece. Although if I'm trying to analyze rap or hip hop it is a little harder for me to analyze it than all other genres of music because to me, the beats in those two genres do not have tone to them. But thats just me.

Nice title. I think they are probably not so different, but rhetorical analysis should be easier to understand in paintings and songs because you actually feel the emotion, and you might take more time understanding it, but you will understand it better.

ReplyDeleteI agree that they are not so different but to me a text is much easier to analyze than images becuz I believe that by reading u can get the message much clearer than u can by just looking at an image.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right that analyzing a song versus a piece of physical art is not that different. Really, if you think about it, they both art "texts" which only means that we can analyze them because we can "read" them.
ReplyDeleteThere's seems to be a general consensus that analyzing a song is easier, because there are more elements we can access to ascertain meaning.
